Shelly Peary
Welfare Officer
Hi I'm Shelly, new chair of WPSC, no idea how I fell into the role but here I am! Bear with me as I get to grips with it. I first paddled with WPSC probably 15+ years ago and loved it from my first time. I'm no better now than I was back then but that's doesn't matter as it makes me happy every time I'm on the water.

Tom Thomas Safety and Coaching Officer, Fundraising
My name is Tom and I’m the club Coaching Officer. I organise most of the Personal Performance and Coaching Award assessments that go on through the club. I really enjoy all aspects of the club but get increasing pleasure from seeing others develop into skillful paddlers, coaches, leaders and active members of the club.

Liam Hodgson Membership Engagement Officer
Hi, I'm Liam and I support existing member engagement at WPS. I'm an Advanced Sea Kayak Leader and also dabble in White Water Kayaking over the winter, although my passion is getting into my sea kayak and heading off on multi day trips, kayaking in remote locations in the West Coast of Scotland. If you see me on the water, or around the club, please do come and say hello and let me know how you are finding life as a member of WPS and the type of events you'd like to see in the future. I'm really keen to make sure the club remains relevant and meets your needs as a paddler.

Kim Johnston
Chairperson Youth Engagement Office
I began my career in the Royal Navy in communications and weapons engineering, developing a disciplined, team-focused approach, and later earned a BSc in Adult Nursing from Northumbria University.
I have over three years’ paddling experience, starting through Sea Cadets where I completed Discover and Explore awards and the Paddle Safety Rescue Course (PSRC). Since joining the club last year to broaden my experience across disciplines, I am now working towards my Sheltered Water Coach award to support and give back to others.
I also volunteered for three years as a Unit Training Officer with a local Sea Cadet unit, managing training, safety, and safeguarding.

Chris Scott
Secretary/Safety and Equipment Officer
I have taken on a number of roles within the club over the last 20 odd years and am now currently a Safety Officer, Secretary and Kit officer. All important roles to ensure the club has the kit and equipment and people to deliver the safe, fun and educational courses, trips and weekly sessions for our members. I look forward to meeting people and helping them get the most out of the club and experience some of the fantastic things that paddling has to offer.

Gary Cadman
I.T. Officer
Hi, I look after our I.T. related things such as WebCollect and the Website. I'm also an Open Water Canoe Coach. I'm currently on a regular paddling hiatus but support the club by providing adminstration.
